Click on Jesus
It was a Sunday afternoon and I'd just finished reading some of the sayings of Jesus and was really overwhelmed by how much
Jesus can do for us if we let Him, when my wife, Josephine, shared very quickly with me the idea of clicking on Jesus. A few
minutes later, I looked into the dictionary to see all the possible meanings of the word, 'click'. I came across a meaning
that I thought was quite interesting. In computing,'if you click on an area of a computer screen, you point the cursor at
that area and press one of the buttons on the mouse in order to make something happen.' Then, I remembered the words of Jesus
in John 16: 24. He says, '...ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full'. I found myself
pondering on these words. I read them several times. And each time, it became clearer to me that Jesus wants our joy to be
full. In other words, Jesus wants our complete satisfaction.
Yes, that's exactly His desire and will for us. If Jesus did not wish that we should 'prosper and be in good health/,
He wouldn't say 'whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall
ask any thing in my name, I will do' (see John 14: 13- 14). Now, take note that He says 'whatsoever' and I find these words
very comforting and as I thought about them, I compared what Jesus said to the meaning of 'click on' in computing.
When I want something to happen, I click on an area of my computer screen and usually the pages open or a task is done.
In other words, something usually happens and I always believe the pages are going to open or that the computer is going to
perform the task it has been asked to do. I rarely doubt the efficiency of my machine. I always trust it. I believe it's going
to work for me and I'm usually surprise when it doesn't.
There are a thousand plus one things I can do with my computer but I always have to click on the right places. I always
marvel at how much I can do with my machine. It's always a joy to think about the fact that I've accomplished so much with
my computer. The distance between me and the task I have to do is always a click away. I only have to click on a button, an
area on the screen and the miracle happens. I always make something happen.
We need to realise that we can always make something happen in our lives by clicking on Jesus. And this is exactly what
he has asked us to do: To click on Him. To put it another way, our miracles are always a click away from us.
Why do I always use my computer? Well, because I want to get things done in a faster, better and easier way. My work is
never going to be better if I don't use the machine.
The question we need to ask ourselves is: Is our lives going to be better if we don't 'click on' Jesus? Like the computer,
Jesus has offered us a package. He calls this package: abundant life.
Do you have a broken life? Has your sickness defied medical help? Is your family in shambles? Are you being destroyed
by loneliness? What about your family? Perhaps, you're in serious financial crisis. Jesus has a wonderful gift for you. He
came just for you. He has promised beauty for your ashes, the oil of joy for your sorrows and the garment of praise for your
spirit of heaviness. You need to trust Him at this moment.
He is right in front of you as you're reading this and He's saying, 'Come'. Are you over- toiling and loaded down? Jesus
is saying, 'Come, I'm going to refresh you right at this moment as you read these words'. He's going to give rest to your
soul by solving all your problems if you ask Him to help you. He is the healer, the living bread from heaven and the life
of God. He has all the powers in heaven and on earth and nothing is impossible with Him. And guess what? He is ready to help
you NOW...not later. He says, 'I will do it' if only you ask. Now, ask that your joy may be full. Just click on Him; click
on Jesus.
